EQ Shake Table Installation

20_pieqf_install.jpg

The table was sucessfully installed in the excavated trench here in Parkfield on Sunday afternoon 29th June.

Thankyou John Jamrog for your time and precision operating of your John Deere excavator. Thankyou Aimee Eade and John Cowherd of San Francisco who travelled down late on Friday night and put in a huge weekend to fabricate the two spreader bars required to lift the table and mount all the floor panels and bolt down rubber webbing. Thankyou Dan Barrett of Parkfield for finishing welding off the spreader bars and blowing lifting point holes through the shake table. Thankyou Christina McPhee for documenting with HD video. Thankyou Mike O’Neal for terminating incoming power supply to the site. Without your collective help the lift of the shake table would have not been possible.

Nowwith the shake table in place inside the trench I am not far away from powering up the PIEQF system. But I am exhausted and will continue to carrying on and hopefully have the table in operation for 4th July which is this Friday coming.

There is a bunch to get done;

# Secure and dust proof control bunker before powering up computers and electronics.

# Raking of trench and driving in the four 4 ft x 1′ 1/4” steel pins which will hopefully secure the shake table in place and stop it creeping inside the trench.

# Finish off and tidy up perimeter fence around the excavation.
