Fault Scrape

This weekend (28-29th June) the EQ shake table and utilities are being lifted and installed into the large open trench that was excavated here in Parkfield on the 9th June for the PIEQF.

Tempestas

‘Tempestas’ - Latin for Weathered.
Apparently the constant heat of around 100 - 110F is unusual for Parkfield in June. August is the Hot month. This week the weather forcast is projected to be around the 90’s. A cooler break will certainly be a welcome relief.

Subduction Zone

Saturday 14th June
Scott Cotner and I rigged up a large cover to work under. We began assembling the sub-frame of the shake table. Conditions are hot, 105F in the shade that day. Sub-frame was assembled and hydraulic valve boxes mounted in reverse order.

PIEQF Excavation

PIEQF Excavation was completed in one day using Frank Perlet’s D4 Bulldozer and John Jamrog’s Excavator. Frank arrived around 8.30am and the Excavator arrived around 9am.
